It seems the Carolina Hurricanes have made a decision to change things up in net this season.
It was announced earlier today that Antti Raanta was placed on waivers. The netminder is making $1.5 million this season on his one-year deal.
If he is claimed, the Canes would have to make an immediate decision to bring in a backup for Pyotr Kochetkov. Most likely that would be Yaniv Perets, who is currently playing in the ECHL.
Perets has a save percentage of .916 and a GAA of 2.35 for the Norfolk Admirals.
Or the Canes might be thinking of trading for a starter, especially since Fred Andersen is out for an undisclosed time frame with health issues.
