Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal is the team’s nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for the 2019-20 season. The award is presented annually to a player who invests time and resources, makes a clear and obvious positive impact on the community, commits to a particular cause or community, commits to the league’s community initiatives and uses creative programming and influence to engage others, according to the NHL. Staal was also the team’s nominee after the 2016-17 season.
Staal finished the 2019-20 season with eight goals and 27 points in 68 games played.
