Tonight, the Hurricanes host the Ducks as the team from Orange County looks to get revenge for a hard-fought 2-1 win by the Canes earlier in the season. This is a very different Anaheim team from the one the Canes met in California way back when. With three of the big Anaheim free agents now in new homes, this is not the big monster it was when the Canes ended the Ducks 9 game winning streak. But that was a long time ago.
Carolina has had an awful run of results leading into this. It’s no secret that the Canes need this game if they want to keep pace at the top of the Metropolitan Division as they currently only lead on points percentage, having seen a 10 point lead at the top of the Metropolitan Division disappear before their eyes.
