The Canes rolled out many of their prospects against a largely NHL lineup for the Predators on Thursday, resulting in a predictable 5-1 loss in Bridgestone Arena.
Ryan Suzuki scored the game’s opening goal early in the first period, but Nashville turned on the jets from then on out with a 4-1 lead going into the first intermission.
Suzuki left the game in the second period after it looked like he got hit up high behind an odd rush by the Predators.
Antti Raanta had a rough time starting in net. Though Carolina let up five goals in his two periods, Raanta got very little help for an overmatched defense facing an NHL-caliber squad.
