Hurricanes 6, Maple Leafs 3

The Carolina Hurricanes fell behind, 2-0 less than eight minutes into the game but the home team fought back to tie the game before the end of the period and went on to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 6-3 on Thursday night at the Lenovo Center.

Jordan Staal had a hattrick to lead his team to a needed win.

Eric Robinson got things started and Staal scored his first of the night just 17 seconds after Robinson’s tally to tie things up.

Staal scored his second just 35 seconds into the second period off a nice feed by Jordan Martinook.
