The Carolina Hurricanes fell behind 2-0 in the opening period but took over the game with a five goal third period as they won their fifth straight game, 6-2 over Washington on Friday night.
Andrei Svechnikov had his sixth straight multi-point game with a goal and two assists, Sebastian Aho continued his hot streak with three assists, and Brent Burns scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Canes.
Coincidentally or not, Aho and Svechnikov started their hot streaks after coach Rod Brind’Amour put them on the same line. They have been lighting up the NHL ever since.
