The Carolina Hurricanes shut down the Montreal Canadiens in the third period and powered their way to a 5-3 win on Thursday night at the PNC Arena.
Sebastian Aho had his second consecutive four point night and Andrei Svechnikov scored a hat trick to lead the home team.
The Canes jumped out well in the first period and took a 2-0 lead just past the midway point, but the Habs answered with two goals themselves, the last with just four seconds left in the period.
Jesper Fast gave the Canes the lead again early in the second period on a perfect one-timer off of a Stefan Noesen pass.
