The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday night, 4-1.
The Canes didn’t allow any breakaways or very many odd-man rushes as they tightened up their defense for newly signed goalie, Dustin Tokarski.
Both teams did manage 28 shots on goal, but the home team’s were of much higher quality. Tokarski made 27 saves on the 28 shots he faced and was named the game’s first star.
Sebastian Aho got things started with a shortie eight minutes into the game off a nice pass from Seth Jarvis. The Canes killed off six minutes of penalties in the opening period.
