Once again, the Carolina Hurricanes fell behind 2-0 in the first period but they were able to get things going in the second as they defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-3 in overtime on Monday night in the windy city.
Down 2-0, Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho combined for a shorthanded goal one minute and change into the second period. Jarvis notched his 16th of the season on the play.
It is not the first time that Carolina has used a shorthanded opportunity to gain some momentum after their even strength play goes stale.
A few minutes later, Eric Robinson found Jesperi Kotkaniemi in front of the net and “KK” made no mistake, tying the score at two.
