The Carolina Hurricanes took a 2-0 lead in the first period but allowed two in the third as they defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtime, 3-2 on Saturday night in an exciting game at the PNC Arena.
The tying goal came with just 53 seconds left in the game as the Penguins pressured with the extra attacker in the Carolina zone.
But Brett Pesce scored the game-winner after some nice passing by Teuvo Teravainen and Seth Jarvis at 1:41 into the extra period.
Pesce also scored the game’s opening tally after a nice set up by Sebastian Aho.
