Florence wasn’t the only hurricane to blow through Carolina since the NHL season ended. A stormy summer saw seismic change take place inside the core of the Carolina Hurricanes. New owner Tom Dundon completely revamped the hockey operations staff, removing GM Ron Francis and coach Bill Peters, and on the ice some old standbys like Cam Ward and Jeff Skinner and promising youngster Noah Hanifin were jettisoned.

This time, though, Carolina will get it right and begin to climb in the standings.
