Game Recap: Hurricanes 4, Senators 0

The Carolina Hurricanes returned to the win column on Saturday night in Raleigh with a 4-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

The story of the night was a shutout by Spencer Martin, who turned aside 25 Ottawa shots to blank the Sens while filling in for the injured Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov.

The outcome was not in doubt for long as Jordan Martinook scored his sixth of the season eight minutes into the game to give Carolina a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Sebastian Aho broke out of his goalscoring slump with a power play goal to make it 2-0 late in the second, as Martin Necas extended his point streak with a primary assist while Shayne Gostisbehere added the secondary.
