The Carolina Hurricanes showed resiliency on opening night, fighting off a slow start and mental lapses in the third to secure a 5-3 victory versus an up-and-coming Ottawa team.
Now, the Canes embark on their annual State Fair road trip. This six-game trip is the longest opening road swing since October 2016.
There will be a mixed bag of opponents on this road trip, ranging from the runners-up of the Western Conference regular season in Colorado to an Anaheim team that finished last in the NHL.
Needless to say, this six-game stretch is important.
