The Hurricanes hit the road for the first time this season, first by visiting the Penguins Friday.
Carolina (1-1-0) heads up to Pittsburgh (3-2-0) fresh off its first win of the season, a 4-2 victory over the Devils at home. On the other end of the ice, the Penguins needed overtime to get past the Buffalo Sabres but still emerged victorious 6-5 Wednesday.
The Canes hope to capitalize on the Pengiuns’s porous defense out of the gate. Pittsburgh has allowed 4.2 goals per game so far this season, the third-worst mark in the league. With a four-goal showing last time out, Carolina should keep pace on the offensive end.
