The Carolina Hurricanes overcame some adversity to outscore the San Jose Sharks, 6-3 on Tuesday night.
First off, the team’s first line center, Sebastian Aho, could not play due to an “upper body concern.” Coach Rod Brind’Amour went with seven defensemen and 11 forwards to compensate.
The Canes were dominating early but the Sharks scored on a breakaway with their first shot and chance of the game to take the early lead just 3:14 in. The lead did not last long though when Seth Jarvis scored a powerplay goal less than a minute later.
Shortly after that, Frederik Andersen took a shot off his mask and had to leave the contest just 5:27 into the game.
