The Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers battled in a fairly even match up but the Rangers came out on top, 2-1 at the MSG on Thursday night.
Once again, penalties were an issue for the Canes as they were in the box five times versus just two times for New York.
The Rangers took advantage of an early powerplay when Carolina was in the box for too many men on the ice. Chris Kreider beat Frederik Andersen in close to give the home team the lead.
Seth Jarvis broke free and took a pass from Sebastian Aho to tie things up later in the first.
