The Carolina Hurricanes started Sunday afternoon by celebrating the jersey retirement of Eric Staal, but ended up losing the ensuing game to the Anaheim Ducks by a score of 3-2, in overtime.
Once again, the Canes fell behind in this game.
Through two periods, it was 1-0 Anaheim and they made it 2-0 early in the third period.
But the home team did not give up. Later in the third, the Canes scored a powerplay goal off a perfect play when Sebastian Aho found Andrei Svechnikov at the doorstep.
This happened just after an apparent Aho goal was taken off the board when the Ducks wanted a review for goaltender interference.
