The Carolina Hurricanes lost their third straight game, this time with a disappointing effort against the New Jersey Devils in front of an announced crowd of 9,000 plus fans on Thursday night at the PNC Arena.
The Canes started out slowly and were outshot 8-2 early, but were kept in the game by some solid goaltending by Eddie Lack.
But Lack had no chance on a bam-bam passing play between Tyler Kennedy and Mike Cammalleri late in the period as the visitors took a 1-0 lead.
About midway through the second, Jeff Skinner would have to sit in the box for four minutes for a high-sticking infraction which drew blood and once again, Carolina's special team unit let them down.
