The Charlotte Checkers and Toronto Marlies have shown us so far that they may go the distance in this pivotal best-of-seven Eastern Conference Final series. The first two games split between the two teams before the Checkers burst ahead to take the series lead with a beat down in Game 3.
In Game 1, the Marlies surprised the Checkers with a 2-1 win , a hole the Checkers haven’t found themselves in this postseason. Dmytro Timashov got the Marlies on the board a few minutes into the second period before Haydn Fleury tied the game with his first goal of the postseason.
