The NHL trade deadline came and went without much fanfare or movement, so the Charlotte Checkers remain much of the same team. One minor move was made that sent Josh Jooris to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Greg McKegg, a 25-year-old center who was a 3rd round draft pick by Toronto in 2010. The AHL forward had 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 28 games. He will most likely be a part of the Checkers’ bottom-six.
This week, Charlotte finished 1-2-0 at the start of their six-game road trip. The two losses came as a result of two shutouts.
