Bill Peters is part of the Canadian coaching staff as an assistant coach. This will mark his second international tournament as a coach for Canada. Earlier in the year, Peters was the head coach for the Canadian team at the IIHF World Championships where they won the gold medal.
The lone Carolina Hurricanes player in the tournament is Sebastian Aho. While not technically on the NHL roster, Aho is expected to make the team full time out of camp this year as a rookie. Aho has played two other major tournaments with team Finland this year, The World Junior Championships and the IIHF World Championships.
