A recent rash of injuries, combined with the focus of attention for the Carolina Hurricanes to build toward next season pushed the team to make a few call ups from the Charlotte Checkers. The most recent call up came on March 25, as the Canes bring forward Warren Foegele to Raleigh.
The 21-year-old left winger Foegele leads all first-year AHL players in goal scoring, with 26 markers on the season. Overall, Foegele has 26 goals and 42 points in 65 games played with the Checkers this season. He was the next common sense call for the Canes front office, after already bringing up Russian forward Valentin Zykov.
