Carolina Hurricanes (15-6-1) vs. Detroit Red Wings (7-15-3)
Is today the day? Do we finally get to experience Svechnikov versus Svechnikov? Will we be treated to an entertaining brother against brother narrative in tonight’s game? Evgeny, the elder Svechnikov, has been in and out of the NHL since the 2016-17 season; Andrei, of course, made his NHL debut in 2018. Thanks to injuries and AHL time for Evgeny, we haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the two line up against each other.
While Detroit hasn’t confirmed (at the time of writing, at least) that Evgeny will be in their lineup, he has played in the past three games for the Red Wings, collecting two goals and an assist in that time.
