It’s way too obvious given his body of work in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers this season, but young forward Valentin Zykov is ready to make a huge impact with the Carolina Hurricanes. He snagged his first goal this year, in the NHL, in the first period of a March 22 matchup with the Arizona Coyotes. Moreover, Zykov was a great combination with the Finnish dynamic duo of Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen.
After the first goal he notched in that matchup with Arizona, he would soon add on his second of the game. At this point, Zykov has three goals in four career games in the NHL.
