On Saturday morning, the Carolina Hurricanes and Brock McGinn were able to come to an agreement on a new contract. With that off-season hurdle finally out-of-the-way, the time has come for the Hurricanes to focus on re-signing their team captain Justin Williams.
Williams was an essential piece in the Hurricanes success last season. And not only in the leadership department. He had the third most points on the team, along with providing veteran leadership throughout the regular season and postseason.
Rumors of Williams retirement have been circulating ever since the Hurricanes playoff run came to an end back in May.
