After a few days of practicing with the Carolina Hurricanes, defenseman Tim Gleason no longer wants to pursue a return to the National Hockey League and the daily grind that the league requires.
Canes GM Ron Francis announced on Thursday that the 32-year-old blue liner will no longer pursue a return to the NHL with the Carolina Hurricanes.
“Tim informed us today he wasn’t going to continue to pursue his tryout,” said Executive Vice President and General Manager Ron Francis. “He looked and felt good physically, but didn’t feel up to the grind of the NHL mentally.
