Regardless of what happens tonight in any game, the Hurricanes will be in a playoff spot tomorrow morning with five games to go, but to say this game is a must win is an understatement. I mean, I’d take that deal at the beginning of the season.
The drought has lasted nine years. To say that we are in a playoff spot, no matter how precarious, with five games to go is pretty much the best spot we’ve been in this decade. But we really cannot take solace in that. If the Hurricanes lose tonight, they could possibly be only one point ahead of both Montreal and Columbus.
