It’s very hard to figure out this team. The Carolina Hurricanes won their second straight contest, in back-to-back games against Metropolitan Division foes, on March 1 against the New Jersey Devils. That came right after a road victory over Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers.
With the win, the Canes have tied the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Metro standings, and for the final wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference. Carolina has been in and out of that wildcard spot for the better part of the calendar year so far. However, Columbus is in action in back-to-back games as well, as they take on the Anaheim Ducks on March 1.
