The Carolina Hurricanes announced Monday afternoon that they have terminated the contract of defenseman Jakub Nakladal after Nakladal cleared waivers at noon and declined an assignment to the AHL Charlotte Checkers.
Nakladal joins Martin Frk as players who the Canes picked up just before the season started but made no impact on the club in their short time here. Only Klas Dalhbeck, claimed on waivers two days after Nakladal was signed and Frk was claimed, remains with the team.
Nakladal had no points and skated to a minus-4 in three games with the Hurricanes.
