Patrick Brown was given a qualifying offer on Monday to retain his RFA status. Brown and the Carolina Hurricanes wasted no time as they came to an agreement on a new contract on Tuesday. The contract is a one year, two way contract that makes Brown waivers exempt for the 2016-2017 season.
Originally undrafted, Brown signed wuth the Carolina Hurricanes in April of 2014 out of Boston College. Over the past two seasons Brown has split time between the Charlotte Checkers and Carolina Hurricanes.
During the 2015-2016 season Brown registered two points, one goal and one assist, in only seven games played.
