The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Thursday that they have agreed to terms on a one-year contract for defenseman Michal Cajkovsky, a training camp invitee who played his way into the Hurricanes’ plans during the preseason.
The two-way deal ensures the 26-year-old Cajkovsky $650,000 at the NHL level and $70,000 in the AHL.
The native Slovakian played for Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the KHL last season, recording 19 points (7G, 12A) in 43 games. Cajkovsky also represented Slovakis in the IIHF World Championships the past two year and 2018 Olympics, and played short stints in the ECHL and AHL from 2013-15.
