Among the biggest things going for the Carolina Hurricanes early on in the season is the play of recent call-up Brett Pesce.

Pesce, 20, is in his rookie year as a professional hockey player, and it is off to a very promising start.

A three-year player at the University of New Hampshire, Pesce improved every year as he flew up the Canes’ prospect rankings. He ended up forgoing his senior year in college to turn pro, and it certainly looks to have been the correct decision.

After signing his entry-level contract, Brett Pesce stepped into Canes training camp as one of the biggest standout amongst the group of young defensemen, a group that included the likes of Noah Hanifin, Danny Biega, Haydn Fleury and Jaccob Slavin among others.
