The Carolina Hurricanes announced Sunday that they have returned forward Martin Necas to HC Kometa Brno of the Czech Extraliga for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. Necas played in one regular season game for the ‘Canes, against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. The Czech Republic native recorded 15 points in 41 games with Brno last season.
Necas was selected 12th overall by the Hurricanes in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. With Necas returning overseas, the Hurricanes will not burn a year off his entry level deal. The Hurricanes press release is below as well as additional details about the move.
