A one game conditioning stint was all that Scott Darling needed to prove to the Carolina Hurricanes that he was ready to return from a preseason lower body injury.
The Hurricanes activated Darling from his assignment to the American Hockey League on Thursday, one day after Darling took a shutout into the final five minutes of the Checkers’ win over Utica and earned the first star of the game in a 3-1 win. Darling will be available to the Hurricanes for the upcoming three-game homestand that begins Friday with a visit from the San Jose Sharks.
