After calling up a pair of forwards from Charlotte on Friday, the Carolina Hurricanes announced Saturday that they are also adding defenseman Matt Tennyson to their roster.
Tennyson, 26, signed a one-year deal with the Hurricanes on July 3, 2016. After nearly making the big club out of training camp, he was sent down to Charlotte to start the season.
He has tallied seven points in nine games with the Checkers this season, including a hat-trick performance against the Iowa Wild on Friday night. He is a plus-seven player so far in Charlotte.
