The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled forward Joakim Nordstrom from his conditioning stint with the Charlotte Checkers. He has not played in the NHL since October 13 due to injury.
Nordstrom, 23, was acquired by the Hurricanes back on September 11 in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks. He was involved in the trade that also brought Kris Versteeg to the team.
The Swedish forward has been sidelined with a lower-body injury over the past month, and he didn’t return to game action until Saturday night in a game with the Checkers against the Manitoba Moose.
