Carolina Hurricanes Recall Jaccob Slavin from the Charlotte Checkers

The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled rookie defenseman Jaccob Slavin from the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.

Salvin tore it up in training camp and preseason for the Hurricanes with consistent and solid performances throughout. He started the year in Charlotte, tallying 7 assists in 14 games. He is a +6 player at the AHL level this season.

The Hurricanes drafted Slavin in the 4th round of the 2012 NHL Draft. Since then, he has shot up the prospect rankings and has become one of the most promising players in the Canes’ organization.

In 2013-2014 as a freshman at Colorado College, Slavin earned NCHC rookie of the year honors and was a member of the league’s second all-star team.
