On Wednesday, the Carolina Hurricanes announced that the club has recalled forward Brock McGinn and defenseman Brett Pesce from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.
Both players are expected to make their NHL debuts on Friday as the Hurricanes kick off a 7-game road trip against the Detroit Red Wings.
The Charlotte Checkers are off to a fast 2-0-0 start in the AHL, thanks in large part to the play of both McGinn and Pesce, two players who have found the scoresheet often and have been effective players for the team early on.
