The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that rookie forward Brock McGinn has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.
This was McGinn’s first NHL stint. He skated in 12 games with the Hurricanes, tallying 2 goals and 1 assist. He is a -11 on the year at the NHL level.
Brock McGinn, 21, busted onto the scene in his NHL debut back on October 16, netting a goal on his first shift and then adding on an assist prior to the end of Carolina’s 5-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
Since then, McGinn has just 1 goal in 11 games and has seen his ice time fall to under 10 minutes per game over his last 6 games.
