Carolina Hurricanes Re-Sign Defenseman Roland McKeown

There is light at the end of the tunnel. We are at the tail end of the NHL off-season. But does that mean Don Waddell is done making moves for the Carolina Hurricanes? Nope. Wednesday, among all the commotion surrounding the Hurricanes media day, it was announced that the Hurricanes had re-signed defenseman Roland McKeown to a one-year, two-way contract.

McKeown’s new deal is worth $700,000 at the NHL level with the Hurricanes, and $70,000 at the AHL level with the reigning Calder Cup champions Charlotte Checkers. The deal also has a $90,000 guarantee.

In the press release regarding McKeown’s re-signing, Hurricanes President and General Manager Don Waddell had this to say.
