It was announced Thursday that the 2015 2nd round draft pick finished second in MVP voting in the Liiga, finishing behind just 33 year old forward Kristian Kuusela of Tappara.
At the age of 18, Aho was a point per game player playing with grown men in Finland’s best hockey league, tallying 45 points (20 goals, 25 assists) in 45 games. On top of his point production, he finished the regular season as a +26 player (best in the Liiga) and he took just one minor penalty.
