As the Carolina Hurricanes have their first contest on tap since the All-Star Break, they’ll get a winnable game to round out the January slate. On Jan. 30, the Canes take on the Ottawa Senators, a team pretty far out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference right now.
Entering the 50th game of the 2017-18 season, the Canes sit at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division, with 52 points. However, they’re only three points back from the New York Rangers and New York Islanders, and four points back from a wildcard spot.
Meanwhile, the Sens are having a tough time getting anything going.
