The preseason has been largely overshadowed by the World Cup of Hockey which will overlap with the first half of the exhibition season. The Hurricanes will expect most of their NHL roster in camp as only Sebastian Aho and Michal Jordan were named to World Cup rosters.
The World Cup runs from September 17th through October 1st, with additional exhibition games being played beforehand. For the rest of the players, their preseason will start in Raleigh with the Carolina Hurricanes playing seven exhibition games.
The Carolina Hurricanes open the preseason September 26th with a road game against the Capitals.
