The Charlotte Checkers wrapped up their regular season last night with a 2-1 win over the Cleveland Monsters. The Checkers finished the season with a record of 51-17-8; the best in franchise history and the best in the AHL this season. This has been due in no small part to Martin Necas, among quite a few other offensive powerhouses the Hurricanes have waiting in the wings.
Martin Necas, with two assists in last night’s matchup, marked his 5th consecutive two-point game. Necas has flourished with the Checkers this season, turning in a stellar offensive stat record; in his last ten games, Necas has scored two goals and eight assists.
