Carolina Hurricanes: One for the Future – Jake Bean

Jake Bean was selected 13th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to being drafted by the Hurricanes, however, Jake Bean played for the Calgary Hitmen in the WHL after going undrafted in the WHL Bantam Draft.

Jake was called up to the Charlotte Checkers’ roster for the 2017-2018 season, after posting nearly a point-per-game for the Hitmen during the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 seasons. So far this season, Bean has accumulated 12 goals and 29 assists for the Checkers, combining for 41 points in 66 games played.

The young defenseman has been highly touted as one of the AHL’s top offensive defenseman.
