What will 2019 bring for the Carolina Hurricanes? The Canes’ first opponent of the 2019 calendar year is the same as the last opponent of 2018, the Philadelphia Flyers. The Hurricanes faced off with Philly on New Years Eve in Raleigh, which turned out to be a much-needed win for the Canes. They looked dominant at times, or did the Flyers just look that bad? I am going with the former at this time, as the win has to be a huge confidence boost for the hockey club heading into the New Year.
Goals in that game were scored by two unlikely candidates in Lucas Wallmark and Jordan Martinook, both who have seen their fair share of offensive challenges this season.
