There’s been a ton of talk surrounding the injury to 20-year-old left wing, and Carolina Hurricanes star sophomore Sebastian Aho. He was hit by Calgary Flames captain defenseman Mark Giordano in a Jan. 14 home loss in Raleigh. The hit put Aho out indefinitely with a concussion and lower-body injury.
However, Giordano only received a match penalty, not any sort of reprimanding from the league itself. Now, with Aho out of the lineup at least for the rest of the month of January, it seems, the Canes do have a few options to work with. Mainly, Carolina should hope for one of their many young talents at forward to step up into the spotlight.
