In his first year as the Carolina Hurricanes General Manager Don Waddell, working through Tom Dundon, has managed to spark hope for NHL playoff chances in the Raleigh region. While Ron Francis had gotten us close a few times, most notably right before his removal last season, he never managed to seal the deal.
For the first time in what seems like forever, the Carolina Hurricanes are sitting in a playoff spot with only a month’s worth of hockey left in the regular season. According to Moneypuck.com they have about a 88% chance to make the playoffs this year, including a 64% of being one of the top three teams in the Metro division.
