The goaltending stats from last year left a lot to be desired. Over the 2015-2016 season the Hurricanes ranked second to last in team save percentage with a .902. They fared better in the goals against per game where they ranked 18th in the league letting up 2.70 goals per game.
GM Ron Francis doubled down on his goaltending duo from last season when he re-signed Carolina Hurricanes veteran, Cam Ward. In July Ward signed a two-year $6.6 million dollar extension that will keep him with the team until 2018.
Coach Bill Peters also expressed his confidence with his goaltenders going into next season.
