ESPN recently released their rankings of the top prospects and top farm systems in the NHL. The farm systems were ranked based on the prospect pipeline of each team. The Carolina Hurricanes were ranked fifth.
This marks a large improvement from last season where the Canes ranked 11th. GM Ron Francis has made huge strides to reinvigorate the prospect pipeline of the Carolina Hurricanes. He has traded stars and assets to stockpile picks and prospects. He has made good use of those picks and found NHL talent in later rounds.
When taking into account the prospect pipeline anyone that has played significant NHL time was considered to be “Graduated” and did not count towards the ranking.
